Question to Congress- Are you people just stupid?
We have 535 people in congress, and here lately I have begun to wonder if someone spiked the water there, or if aliens came down and sucker out their brains.
There is bribery, stupid laws, irresponsible behavior, acting above the law…it reads like a TV sitcom.
We have McKinney slapping around a cop, calling him a racists, then sponsoring a bill to honor cops. I don’t think the cops are buying it.
Pat Kennedy takes a cue from her, gets wasted and runs a checkpoint and then waves his credentials around and gets a free ride home. No preferential treatment there.
His pop bloviates about how we cannot make English our official language, some poor immigrant girl will not be able to say "I want an abortion". Right. That’s the real priority here, abortions to immigrants.
William Jefferson. Ah, the man who took a bribe and hid $90k in his freezer. He split 10 grand between his kids. Now I bet they think he is cheap. Then after sitting on a subpoena for 8 months he gets all indignant when the FBI says enough is enough, gets a warrant and searches his office. And he has the gall to act surprised.
Naturally the Congressional Black Caucus claims racism. What a shock.
And in the wake of that, most of congress has lost their minds, claiming to be be above such searches. Separation of powers they claim. Above the law is what they mean. Immune from their actions.
Speaker Hastert and Rep Pelosi made a pact with Satan apparently and joined forces to complain about it. That is truly scary.
I will pause in mid rant and give Pelosi full credit for her efforts to get Jefferson to resign. Of course he refused.
Back to the rant. Do you realize the the first real effort to work together these two people have made is to complain about the investigation of one of their own? Is that the priority?
If that unholy alliance does not scare you, how about Ted Kennedy joining with McCain to essentially argue for open borders, with no meaningful immigration caps. They were opposed by unholy alliance lite of Bingamann and Sessions.
It’s mad I tell you, mad!
Oh, the Senate passed an immigration bill. Some of the amendments are a bit tricky. The Senate bill:
-
Makes English our national language.
-
Makes English just a unifying language
-
Gives amnesty to illegals
-
Does not give amnesty to illegals
-
Requires us to consult with Mexico before we build a fence.
-
Legislates that Miller Lite is great tasted AND less filling.
Ok, so I am being a but cynical, but the reports are awash with contradiction…except the consultation clause. That is actually there.
Apparently last week when Mexico threatened to sue us for having the nerve to try and protect out border, it scared the begeezus out of them.
Should I mention the other ethics investigations? Naw. You get the point.
It just seems like lately Congress has gone insane. You have the very serious issues of out of control spending, the posturing about the war, the complaints about the NSA wiretaps-by the very same people who have known about them for years, but never said anything- till now. Then the ethical violations, the bribes, the pork barrel spending and the laws that make no sense. The nanny state philosophy that insists that they know better then us poor schlubs, despite a complete lack of any evidence to support it.
The American people insist on a few things, and all the polls are showing it, why are they not paying attention.
Congress: Wake the hell up!
We want border security. We want a national identity, anthem and language. We want illegal aliens punished for breaking the law, not rewarded by allowing them to keep the fruits of their illegal actions. When they commit identity fraud to get a job, they violate Federal law. Enforce it. We want to see a serious effort made to do this.
We want to be safe from terrorists, and most of us don’t care about data mining, and wiretaps on terrorists.
We wouldn’t mind spending under control too, if you get some free time from your junkets.
Oh, and while we are at it, stop taking bribes, and show some ethics. We give you a good paycheck, a great retirement system and incredible benefits. Live with it. I will trade you foe mine, right now.
Show some spine. Stand up for ethics. Stop the whining and quit pretending you are above the law and immune from reproach.
Maybe we need to toss all the rogues on their asses in the next elections.
If I did my job as lousy as they are, I would be fired. They should too.
Yes, yes I know it isn’t all of them. I don’t have the time or energy to sort all the nuances and subtleties to figure out who the good guys are.
I’m disappointed, disillusioned, and disgusted. They get to share it equally.
Oh…and someone gag McDermiit. Please? That one is a nobrainer.
