Claiming as he does - in his own high, squeaky voice on the radio, no less - that " by deducting their sales taxes from the federal income tax, the average Washington family saves $550 a year." is a lie, pure and simple.
To the average taxpayer, this is meaningless. Most opt for the standard deduction, which does not allow a separate deduction.
But the rest of the Bill Cantwell voted against may - or may not, interpretations differ - have eroded the minimum wage and definitely would have gutted the estate tax rightly paid by super-rich dynasties… Like those who get $20 million "retirement" packages…
