Modern anti war activists seem to think that spitting on soldiers is for wimps

National Guardsman Brutally Attacked In Pierce County
PARKLAND, Wash. — The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is searching for five people who allegedly attacked a uniformed National Guardsmen walking along 138th Street in Parkland Tuesday afternoon.
The soldier was walking to a convenience store when a sport utility vehicle pulled up alongside him and the driver asked if he was in the military and if he had been in any action.
The driver then got out of the vehicle, displayed a gun and shouted insults at the victim. Four other suspects exited the vehicle and knocked the soldier down, punching and kicking him.
“And during the assault the suspects called him a baby killer. At that point they got into the car and drove off and left him on the side of the road,” Detective Ed Troyer with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.
The suspects were driving a black Chevy Suburban-type SUV.
“This is something new for us, we have not had military people assaulted because they were in the military or somebody’s opposition to a war or whatever,” Troyer said.
The driver is described as a white male, 25-30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, heavy build, short blond hair, wearing a black T-shirt and jeans, and armed with a handgun.
The vehicle’s passengers are described as white males, 20-25 years old. Some of the suspects wore red baseball hats and red sweatshirts during the attack.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and charging of the individuals involved. Informants can call 253-591-5959, and callers will remain anonymous.

The title is an homage to the stories of anti war activists who spit at Vietnam era soldiers, that has been casually dismissed as urban legand.
Anti war people don’t do things like that we are told.
What they will do, apparently, is beat a soldier walking down the street?
And the baby killer label was very instructive since it was the same accusation made against soldiers in Vietnam when they were not spit on. Beating? Yes. Spitting? Oh no….never.
Yes, yes, I know I am leveling accusations against these non violent peace loving activists, and painting with a broad brush. I don’t particularly care. I am pissed. Non violent activists, my ass.

Look, I don’t care what your politics are, this kind of thing is disgraceful.
I eagerly await some liberal outrage. I am not holding my breath of course.
I hope these animals are caught before the next baby killer innocent soldier they attack is hurt even more seriously or even killed. Someone please step forward, and end this.

Honestly, as wrong as what they did is? I doubt this will incur God’s wrath more than anything else. I see nothing to indicate God has a special hatred for people who attack soldiers.
It was bad. It was wrong. But I can’t muster more outrage over this than other violent crimes.

I think anyone who attacks someone so viciously deserves a special place in hell. Just my opinion.
Maybe your right, and the military aspect is not worthy of special outrage, but as I have repeatedly said, where the Military is attacked, I have a known and well documented Bias.
And I am fairly proud of it.

Several states have included Political affiliation as part of hate crime sentencing also, sinse we know how much people can get inflamed and worked up for their specific causes.
groups of people that act like wild dogs, that go around and beat people because of their political affiliation or the job they do.
Do you feel much outrage for a group of white men that jump out and beat up a black man?

Do you feel much outrage for a group of pro-lifers who jump out and beat a abortion doctor?
How about a pro-lifer who bombs a abortion clinic?
The last two is what I consider a hate crime also, and it deal specifically not on race, but on the job a person does. They do not agree with what this person does, and they think it is best to kill the person, or beat them.
What happens when these same individuals who beat this serviceman decidie to take it to the next level and kill a serviceman, maybe start killing them one at a time, because they think they are doing the world a favor?
I am sure pro-life abortion bombers feel the same way…..
And just an FYI, I am pro-life, very, but I do not agree with those type of tactics.

Please do not paint us peace activists with such a broad brush. Many of us oppose the war and American policies, but we support the troops and are a peaceful people.
These were the actions of a tiny, bigoted minority of us.

I think Karl’s concern is that this could catch on, and these guys are running free.

Recruitment for the armed forces is down. Way down. Most likely it is because the country is in a war that is not supported by the people. (Democracy????)
When something like this happens, it creates a feeling of patriotism in people and makes them feel positive about the military. It get’s them good press. People are sympathetic to the troops needs.
Bottom line, it is good publicity.

Peaceful people do not own guns. They don’t beat people up. It’s pretty easy to see right through this. But then again, you don’t think for yourself, you believe everything that is written in the paper. Word for word.

I should also note that I did not support the invasion of Iraq, I advocated waiting till Afghanistan was locked down. But you are more worried about insulting me then actually asking questions.
