Katie’s Revenge

Published by Karl at 5:56 pm under justice?

I am a person who believes in justice and not in vigilanteism.

Let me repeat that:  I am a person who believes in justice and not in vigilanteism.

But sometimes it is hard.  One such incident was hearing that convicted mass murderer Jeffery Dammer was killed in prison.

This is another.

The situation involves the rape and murder of Katie Collman, age 10.  The confessed killer is named Anthoy Stockelman, and he was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

It seems someone decided that was not enough.

The result was this:

 Katies_Revenge.jpg

The site I found the story on,  Lost in Lima Ohio: A True Crime Blog, reports that:

The photo was taken after his conviction, and after a relative of Katie’s managed to leave a permanent reminder of what Stockelman has done- upon his forehead. It seems that the two were serving time in the same jail when a situation allowing them to come into contact with each other occurred.

Officially I abhor it.  I denounce it.  Candidly I wish it was not a vigilante, I wish it was court ordered.

And privately, I can’t help but feel that he deserved it.

I may not like myself for that admission, but it’s honest.  He was a brutal raping bastard and he deserved much worse.

I also want to echo what the original poster said:

I’m updating this. And insisting that you read the update before you read anything else. Because, there is something important that I believe should be shared.

A entire family grieved over the murder of 10 year old Katie Collman. And those that loved her took their grief and used it to create something beautiful, something inspired by the love they have for her. I think it’s important to share that. To remind everyone that evil doesn’t always breed more evil, and that sometimes out of the most horrific pain comes the most endearing tributes.

Katie’s Playground was constructed in memory of 10 year-old Katie Collman, who was abducted in the small town of Crothersville, Indiana and later found murdered. Volunteers constructed a safe, handicap-assessable and community-built play area for children to gather and enjoy.

Katie’s Playground was designed by local elementary students and Katie’s classmates — with the help of Marc Leathers of Leathers and Associates, an architectural firm that specializes in playgrounds worldwide — and was built by volunteers. Beginning with a child’s imagination, our dream was to erect a playground at the local school that would be a source of ongoing community pride.- From Katie’s Playground.

Of the two reactions I prefer this one, but I am sure both will be long lasting.

I think the story is clear enough so I wont go on.

RIP Katie, and respects to the family.

Agreed on the last two points… RIP… But I have to disagree on the first.

"Officially I abhor it.  I denounce it.  Candidly I wish it was not a vigilante, I wish it was court ordered."

This is a Nation of laws designed around restraint of the kind of violent impulse evidenced by this "graffitti." I have to say you are lessened by such impulses… But I’m sure you can overcome them.

Remember that when you consider our International quandries… All of American exceptionalism rests on this thin thread.

And it is interesting how "Moslem" this retaliation is. In several sects of Islam, families have a revenge right.

So no, I can’t support you in a public sense. The body public must set a higher standard.

If I’d have been the "graffitti artist?" I’d have driven the pen through his misbegotten forehead…

    RIP Katie.

I guess in the hidden little core inside me I like the thought of some foul murderous raping bastard being permanently marked as a murderous raping bastard.

A part me say cruelty be damned, label these sick bastards as what they are, and maybe you will enable a future victim to escape by knowing at least one person to avoid.

But thats unrealistic, and the bleeding heart liberals and ACLU will make sure of it.

And I predict he will get laser surgery, paid for by the state, to remove this as he files a million doller lawsuit for the Dept of Corrections failure to protect him.

    Such is our society.

But I think the founding father would have just hung him.

They did have a lovely simplicity

AS A VICTIM AND SURVIVOR OF SEXUAL ABUSE, YOU KNOW WHAT I SAY?  KILL THEM ALL. PERIOD.    THERE IS NO OTHER ANSWER.

What this human trash went through to get this tattooed was in no way comparible to what that child went through. And now her life is gone. You know what I say? If it were possible, he should go through this everyday, before breakfast. Even life in prison is LIFE, albeit low quality. That’s much, much more than what Katie has.

Karl by your standards I’d probably be a bleeding heart liberal but I’d have neutered him while I was tattooing him.
