More than one commentator said that this is what he should have been doing BEFORE things had gotten to where they are at.  Now, there is question if a surge of 22,000 is enough to make the difference? The Bush Administration seems to be the working definition of insanity.  Keep doing the same thing repeatedly expecting different results. How do you answer the fact that the Iraq study group recommended an initial surge, and all the democrats wanted him to adopt the ISG recommendations?
 
And if he had said "you have asked me for years to ramp up, and I finally see the wisdom of your ideas" would that make it better?
