This actually reminds me of something they did at my school. Ever since I got to Gig Harbor high school instead of singing "home of the brave" at the end of the national anthem at the assemblies we'd always say "home of the tides" (school mascot...don’t ask me what kind of mascot that is because its pretty much the dumbest thing ever...our mascot is a tide? Don’t ask) and last year they had an assembly and at the beginning they asked us to not say that because it was disrespectful even though we'd been saying it since, I don’t know, probably since the school was built decades ago. No one really listens because honestly who really listens to that kind of crap. I’m going to say what I want and you cant stop me and I’d like to see you try. HA!
