And the Oscar goes to Al Gore for Best Performance as an Arrogant Prima Donna

Published by Karl at 11:02 pm under Democrats, Global Warming, gore

Al Gore apparently thinks he presides over the Senate.  At the very least he must be convinced from his rock star treatment elsewhere that he is special, which helps explain his outrageous behavior.

First he asks for an extended opening statement, which is granted.  Then instead of having his prepared remarks available  to the Committee 48 hours ahead of his testimony per normal rule, he asks for only 24 hours.  He actually delivers said statement about 2 minutes before his actual appearance which he was also late to, reportedly to avoid having to hear the Republicans opening statement.

No other person appearing before a Senate Committee would be greeted with so much awe, and be allowed such behavior as Al Gore.  He was even hailed as a prophet.  Ironic since he is determine to make a profit on the whole debacle.

Sister Toldjah made a nice suggestion for his seating arrangements:

Maybe in order to further accomodate Mr. Oscar-winner, they can provide him with two chairs to sit in. The  other one will be for his gigantic ego, which has proved to be much more of a pressing issue than ‘global warming.’

Heh.

The GOP members did go after him on the absurdity of his movie, but Al learned evasion and rationalization from the Master, Slick Willy, and had the Chair in his pocket.

Barbara Boxer even managed to made an unprofessionally snide dig at former Chairmen Sen Inhofe just for fun.

The highlight and money quote, however, was when Sen Inhofe asked The Great One to sign a Global Warming Personal Energy Pledge:

As a believer:

·        that human-caused global warming is a moral, ethical, and spiritual issue affecting our survival;

·        that home energy use is a key component of overall energy use;

·        that reducing my fossil fuel-based home energy usage will lead to lower greenhouse gas emissions; and

·        that leaders on moral issues should lead by example;

I pledge to consume no more energy for use in my residence than the average American household by March 21, 2008.”

Considering Al is hovering at more 20 times the normal usage, he declined.  Al’s belief must be a bit too nuanced.

When Inhofe pointed out how Gore’s own Oscar winning movie asked the question “Are you ready to change the way you live?” and pointed out how his stance was hypocritical, the esteemed energy hog quickly retreated behind his specious argument of his ”carbon neutrality” and green energy usage, which as anyone knows is horse poop.

 Here is the video courtesy of Hot Air.

Didn’t matter.  The democrat’s lips were firmly attached to Al’s butt the whole hearing.   Sadly a few RINO’s were kissing the great divide as well.

Sad.  There is so much science now saying Al is a hack, but most of the politicians are too scared to make the stand.  And if they don’t fear inducing lie ridden science will rule the policy and Al will continue to get rich on Global Warming.

    This kind of article mystifies us from the UK.

    I guess it’s a classic case of an important message being brought by an untrusted voice. As soon as it is recognised that
    you are listening to a Democrat all resoning ends.

    If you look at the science of climate change you will realise that there is a real problem, and it really is (as Al has stated) non-partisan.

    Seriously, if ou doubt this please check out any university research website on climate change…e.g MIT, Columbia, Oxford, Cambridge…take your pick and make your mind up on facts rather than a distaste for the messenger!

    Thanks for the response.

    I have read into it more then you can imagine.

    The problem is that the science is not settled and there is considerable debate as to the cause and effect aspects of Global Warming.

    What troubles me about Al is his insistence in not relying on facts for his presentation. If the science was so settled and so accurate, why lie? When he does that, it leads to indications of the science not being sufficient.

    And since Al Gore is heavily invested in a company that sells carbon offsets, it leads to an accusation of conflict of interest.

    My beef against Al Gore is not his being a democrat, it is him not being honest, nothing more.

    I’m enjoying your comments about Al Gore’s hoax. This guy is amazing.
