How people can live with such inner hatred and bitterness,  I will never understand.

And the scary thing is that this is fairly mild for the HuffPo, but still, how can anyone even go there? How can you make such rude and idiotic statements?  Via Hot Air:

I admit my bias shows with these stories. I hear about Tony Snow and say to myself, well, stand up every day, lie to the American people at the behest of your dictator-esque boss and well, how could a cancer NOT grow in you. Work for Fox News, spinning the truth in to a billion knots and how can your gut not rot? I know, it’s terrible. I admit it. I don’t wish anyone harm, even Tony Snow. And I do hope he recovers or at least does what he feels is best and surrounds himself with friends and family for his journey. But in the back of my head there’s Justin Timberlake’s “What goes around, goes around, comes around, comes all the way back around, ya..”…

Now, I’ve been brutally honest above, and may have offended some, and for that I’m sorry. Again, I don’t want Tony Snow to suffer and die of cancer. But like many this morning, I had the thought.

Thanks to one of the Cornerites for spotting that. He rambles on for another 20 paragraphs or so about how we’re “having our asses handed to us” in Iraq and how Sky News is doing a crackerjack job covering it, unlike that evil Rupert Murdoch outfit that gave Tony his tumors. Um, who wants to be the one to tell him?

Consider the outrage over Elizabeth Dole's cancer had a right winger said "She lives with a lying democrat, its no wonder her cancer came back..."  In fact even those who wish her well were slammed not for anything against her, but for questioning whether Edward's made a good choice to continue his futile presidential bid.

In fact, borrowing again from Hot Air, see the differences in this comparison of righty reaction to the news of Elizabeth Edwards’s cancer and lefty reaction to Snow’s.

If I am wrong about this, I beg our readers to point me to the evidence, but I have a strong hunch that the recent cancer diagnoses of Elizabeth Edwards and Tony Snow illustrate the class divide between the Left and Right blogospheres.  As in, we have class, and they do not.

This blog joined many of those who lean right-of-center in putting politics aside to wish Elizabeth Edwards and her family all the best.

On the other hand, a whirlwind tour of some of the most popular liberal blogs (as of this writing) shows that the drumbeat of GOP-bashing continues without so much as an acknowledgment of the similar situation in which Tony Snow, his wife and their young children find themselves.

The Tacit Brigade includes Atrios, Firedoglake, Democratic Underground, Towleroad, MyDD, Pandagon, Democrats.com, Pam's House Blend, and, of course, the Bratz doll of the Angry Left, Kos.

Some, like AmericaBlog, not only ignore Tony Snow's plight but continue to hammer anyone who would dare speak about whether the Edwards' decision is the best thing for their kids.  (While I believe that the Edwards' decision is an intensely personal and painful one, the potential of a presidential candidate who knows the odds are good that he will be widowed with young children, should he win the presidency, is a legitimate topic of discussion.)

On the most odious end of the specturm, the brackish, Transylvanian heart of Arianna Huffington brings us the first "Die, Tony!" post that I have been able to find.  (Class, while in short supply, can be found at TPM, Crooks & Liars, and Carpetbagger.)

Is it my imagination, or are the Lefty blogs showing themselves far more despicable, once again, than the Right?

Nope, I don't think you are imagining it.  It is sadly expected as it is symptomatic and habitual of the nutroots.

And disgusting.

I wish Tony and Elizabeth the best in their cancer struggles, and their respective families as well....despite all the jerks on both sides who cannot be civil to a person in a time of need.
