Sign the petition at StopRosie.com

Published by Karl under Idiots, Just for fun

I saw this on the KVI Blog as well as Hot Air.

Stoprosie.com

Our Mission:  is to influence current and prospective viewers of The View to not watch the program until Rosie O’Donnell is replaced.

Our Reason:  for calling this boycott is to raise awareness of the anti-American rhetoric being displayed in the mainstream media today. We aim to show Disney-ABC (and all other media outlets) that we, as American citizens, will not tolerate an anti-American individual occupying national airtime.

Our Method:  comes in the form of an online petition. We ask for your support in signing this petition, proving to Disney-ABC that they are losing a significant portion of consumers.

I wish I’d thought to register it first actually.

OK, a few word regarding Rosie.

As an actress i like her.  I know of a few movies she was a part of that were better for her being in them.  But as a talk show host, she started out fun in her solo show, but quickly showed her true partisan attitudes, notably her ambush of Tom Selleck.

And since coming to The View she has taken over as the dominant voice of the show, drowning out any dissenters with childish and rude tactics.

As a commentator, I have no particular respect for her.

But the The View was hardly on my daily watch list anyway, so the petition is almost pointless except as a way to exercise some free speech.

And Rosie and the liberals should applaud it, as petitions and protests are a liberal staple for protesting any idea they are intolerant of.

If enough people convince ABC and Disney that they are unhappy with her, that is free market economics at its finest.

So look at the site and sign it, or don’t it is up to you.

But honestly with the absolutely idiotic crap she spews on a daily basis, it is hardly a wonder that someone wants her gone.

Stalker shootings prompt discussions encouraging women to carry concealed weapons…or at least it should prompt that

Published by Karl under guns, violence

To have to have one such grisly shooting happen is bad enough, but two in just a few days just makes the situation all the more surreal.

The first:

Police pin UW shooting on victim’s ex- boyfriend

A University of Washington resear cher was shot to death in her office Monday morning by a former boyfriend who then turned the gun on himself, police said.

Officers responding to reports of gunfire found the two dead in an office on the fourth floor of Gould Hall, the university’s architecture building, Assistant University Police Chief Ray Wittmier said.

The 26-year-old woman was granted a restraining order last month against Jonathan Rowan, according to court documents. University police said he was not affiliated with the school.

Small comfort that is.  The fact is this is a grim and heartbreaking tale of an obsessed ex lover and a woman who tried all legal means to ensure her protection and safety.

“I cannot find him but he can find me (knows my place of work),” the victim, identified by colleagues as Rebecca Griego, wrote in a restraining order petition filed against Rowan on March 6 in King County Superior Court.

Lance Nguyen, who worked with Griego at the Runstad Center for Real Estate Research, said the victim had become increasingly worried about her former boyfriend in recent weeks.

“She said it’s a psycho from her past,” Nguyen said.

One frustrating thing emerging in the aftermath is that the police are quick to note that they had not officially served him with the restraining order.

Uh…so friggin what?  Are you suggesting it would have made a difference?  I highly doubt it.

Another idiot comment was this:l

Campus police were not aware of the restraining order, Wittmier said. He also said he did not think the man had permission to carry a handgun on campus, where firearms are banned.

Well duh.  Thanks, that’s helpful.  I will address the firearm ban in a moment.

ABC Launches The Rosie O’Donnell Rant Advisory System (RORAS)

Published by Karl under Idiots, Just for fun

Finally ABC and The View has a graphical warning system to warn how deranged Rosie will be on a given day.

I give you:  RORAS

So far, the green rating is just theoretical…I think it is just there for a statistical control factor…

Keith Richards snorted his dad?

Published by Karl under Idiots

The real tragedy in this story is not that Richards apparently took his father’s ashes, and mixed it with some nose candy and had a good snort, it is that no on is actually all that surprosed that he did.

Rolling Stones wildman Keith Richards claims he snorted his own father’s ashes during a drugs binge.

Richards made the extraordinary admission in an interview with NME magazine.

“The strangest thing I’ve tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father,” he said

“He was cremated and I couldn’t resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow. My dad wouldn’t have cared, he didn’t give a s***.

Seriously, while the average reaction is “ewww” it is usually followed by the sad realization that it is not as shocking as first thought.  The guy is so wierd and freaked out that nothing is really a surprise, other then that he is still alive, reasonably lucid and still able to perform.

A coworker of mine had the money quote on this:

…it is bad enough he would do it, but why would you even want to tell anyone about it?”

Indeed.

Crooks and Liars only tells half the story RE: Bill O’Reilly vs Ret Col Ann Wright

Published by Karl under Idiots, Iran

Crooks and Liars, a fairly overtly leftist site, takes Bill O’Reilly to task for his conversation with Col Ann Wright (US Army Ret) when he had her on his show the other night.

According to the CnL story, Bill brought Ann on, harassed her as Un-American and then cut her mic to prevent her response.

Bill O’Reilly abuses and cuts the mic of retired Colonel Ann Wright, 29-year veteran of the US Army, after she refuses to fall victim to his leading, dishonest questions and smear tactics. Apparently in Bill’s demented world, criticizing the actions of President Bush in explicitly violating international law — something Col. Wright spent years teaching — constitutes “blaming” America.

They provided a partial transcript:

WRIGHT: “I want to make sure the United States treats people properly..”

O’REILLY: “Sure you do. Sure you do.”

WRIGHT: “I surely do. That’s what I spent 29 years of my life trying to do.”

O’REILLY: “Sorry. No you didn’t. You know what happened to you…somewhere along the line you started to dislike your own country….“

WRIGHT: “I served 29 years. How many did you serve? Where did you teach the Geneva Conventions?”

O’REILLY: “Cut her mic.”

Damning indeed, except that they left out a few things.  O’Reilly brought her on as a teacher of Geneva Convention law from her Army days.  He asked her what appeared to me to be a simple question.  Quoting the UN as saying the Iranian hostage situations was “an unprovoked act of aggression” and a “violation of the Geneva convention”, he asked her if she agreed.

She ducked the question, and instead urged caution about the circumstances of the Boats location.  She rightly noted that the Brits and Iranians need to not allow this to get escalated.  But she did duck the question.  She then danced around it a second time, and even point out we have no moral high ground because we did worse in Abu Ghraib.
