Contrary to the popular press misconception those who resist a criminal attack are less likely to be harmed if they use a firearm than even those who offer no resistance at all.

The other misconception that criminals will take the firearm from the defender is also belied by the actual facts — this practically never happens except on TV.

This however does not mean that training isn’t important TO YOU.

And THE MOST important thing to remember: Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready and willing to destroy something.

Yes, you must never point it at something you are unwilling to destroy, and yes “all guns are ALWAYS loaded” for safety purposes, but the religious practice of keeping the finger of the trigger UNTIL … is the most important thing.
