I hate to fly.  Well maybe not hate, but I find it moderately nerve racking for a number of reasons.

Aside from the fact that you are strapped into a metal tube, 30,000 feet up defying gravity that is.

I used to be an aircraft mechanic, so I know how planes work and why, and every noise is something I understand.  I keep waiting to *not* hear something, really.

And 9/11 made the illusion of comfort and safety in an airline a really tenuous reality.  In fact, I recall flying from Seattle to Toronto a couple times in late 2002, and I could not help being nervous.  I kept wonder how it mush have felt to them, to have their lives spiral out of control so quickly.  Even for the doomed flight 93 people, who chose their own fate, it is still something unthinkable to try and imagine how they must have felt.

The point of this rambling, is the last thing I want in my face while I am flying is 9/11.  Only an airplane disaster movie would be less attractive.

So now let me tell you why I will never fly on Virgin Atlantic, via LGF:

9/11 Conspiracy Film on Virgin Airlines

This qualifies as one of the outrages of the year: Virgin Atlantic Airlines is showing the evil, dishonest 9/11 conspiracy film Loose Change as inflight entertainment.

Are these people insane? Maybe next they can have a retrospective of the works of Leni Riefenstahl.

What can one say about this? Make an absolutely crappy documentary, put scary music on it, make out George W. Bush to be eeeevil, and moonbats with money bags will beat a path to your door to put your lousy film on their airplanes.

I’ve made up my mind: Loose Change is a pile of excrement and Virgin Atlantic will never ever get one thin dime from me.

I tend to agree.

I honestly cannot see any sense in that choice.  The film is a low budget independent whinefest of conspiracy theories that have been so thoroughly debunked and refuted, this is just a flat out dumb idea.

Virgin Airways Tosses 'Loose Change'

Our first post yesterday morning was about Virgin Atlantic’s outrageous decision to show the 9/11 Truther film Loose Change as inflight entertainment.

Well, your feedback to Virgin Atlantic and the coverage in the blogosphere has apparently caused them to withdraw the film.

Folks, we made a difference. After our post about Virgin Atlantic airing the 9-11 conspiracy film Loose Change 2 as in-flight entertainment last night, the producer of Andrew Wilkow’s Sirius satellite radio show decided to make a phone call to Virgin Atlantic to protest the decision. Here’s what happened.

This is Nick Rizzuto the Producer of Andrew Wilkow’s show. I’ve spoken to Virgin Atlantic’s Press folks, a gentleman named Paul Charles. After a heated 20 minute conversation where I threatened to spread this information throughout the conservative media and promised them a media firestorm and PR poison, they have decided not to show the film.
