Coolest headline of the week so far: A joint before the joint? Prison-bound Paris pictured smoking cannabis

A joint before the joint? Prison-bound Paris pictured smoking cannabis

Just when she thought things couldn’t possibly get any worse, pictures have surfaced of Paris Hilton surreptitiously smoking cannabis.

The 26-year-old heiress was photographed allegedly smoking a joint while backstage at last month’s Coachella music festival.

Oh that’s hot!

Personally I find it a shocking surprise to learn she smokes pot.  I had no idea.  I swear.  A shock I tell you.  Totally shocked.  Really!

But as I read the article, I realized that something darker was at work here, a deep seated problem.  And her shrink explained what it was:

Hilton, who has been making the most of her freedom with bike rides, shopping trips and even a church visit, is said to be in a fragile state of mind as her sentence looms.

Dr. Charles Sophy, Hilton’s psychiatrist, wrote in a report: “She is emotionally distraught and traumatized as a consequence of the findings at the May 4 hearing, the jail sentence imposed upon her by the judge, and her fear of incarceration.”

Well sure, who wouldn’t be.  45 horrid days without anyone kissing her butt.  So obviously in her traumatized state, the poor dear is just using Pot medicinally, for stress management and anxiety control.  Of Course!

But one has to ponder, what is it about jail that has her so close to breaking?  The article again has the answer:

Hilton can expect tough conditions at LA’s Century Regional Detention Center where is set to serve her time.

Her cell will be approximately 12 feet by 8 feet and feature very basic amenities such as a sink, toilet and mirror.

According to reports, inmates are forbidden from wearing makeup and hair extensions, and are allowed only two pairs of socks and underpants.

Oh God!  The humanity!  No makeup!  And considering her reputation, it sounds like they are actually going to make her wear underwear!

No wonder she is so near to breaking.

She has her supporters though:

As it stands, Hilton - who has appealed to the Governor Arnold Schwartzenegger for a pardon via an online petition - is scheduled to be admitted to  jail on June 5.

The online Free Paris Hilton petition has gathered more than 25,000 signatures

But…

 - but unfortunately for the reality TV star, a rival campaign, Jail Paris Hilton, is twice as popular, with more than 60,000 supporters.

No respect I tell you.

Well I am glad this picture came out, because seeing her smoke pot firmly shores my resolve to stand against marijuana, and I am using this picture as my totem.  No one should have to live with the side effects of pot.

After all:

Look what it does to your nails!

That’s hot!

It must be true, it’s in the Daily Mail!

Seriously though, this “starlet” is pathetic. I alternate between not knowing if I should feel sorry for her having lived such a sheltered life and suddenly having to face reality totally unprepared, or if I should simply feel contempt for her selfish attempt to evade the consequences of her own behavior because she’s who she is.

I don’t have much use for celebrities, and I never have. I have even less use for celebrities that got where they are by slutty behavior, having rich parents and getting caught behaving badly on film.

It’s even worse when they go out and break the law, not once, but twice, and are convicted in a court of law and think that they should be excused because of who they are.

In the end, I don’t know which cuts a more pathetic figure: Paris Hilton suddenly having to face reality and the consequences of her behavior, or the people that want to petition the governor of California to pardon her.
