CNN hammers the Democrats, but gives hate crimes a pass

Video: CNN hammers the Democrats on pork again

If you’re keeping score, this makes not one, not two, but three hard slaps on ethics delivered in the span of nine days. Exit question one: What gives? And exit question two: How soon before the Democratic candidates boycott CNN debates, too?

I hold CNN and most of the media in a cynical light, and with good reason.  They don’t report the news fairly, they either have a political agenda, or they report for sensationalism.  Either way the truth is sacrificed.

So seeing this story I was encouraged, maybe they were changing.  But seeing this story, I was shown that they are still playing politically correct as much as not.

You see, I have previously blogged about the savage rape and murder of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom, and the media’s yawning reaction to it.  After all, it is just a white couple brutally murdered by a gang of blacks.  It is not like a gang of whites killed a black couple, which would instantly be a hate crime, and would be the lead story nationwide.

So when CNN did their story on it, I should have been happy right?  Not so much.

Not only did they completely reject this as a hate crime, they actually made this into a racist issue against whites by showcasing all the white supremacists who were outraged, and ignoring all the mainstream blogs that have covered it.

The implication is that if you are outraged by this and consider it a hate crime you are a racist.  Its so outrageously hypocritical I cannot believe it.  Again, via Hot Air.

Video: CNN covers the Christian-Newsom murders

As only CNN can, with a sneer that anyone who cares about what happened to Channon Christian and Chris Newsom, and why it happened, has to be a redneck bigot white supremacist. The report starts off citing an Aryan blogger and descends from there.

Look…I do not support hate crimes laws in general, as determining hate is very difficult.  Adding an additional level of criminality for hate misses the point that the fact a crime was committed is bad enough.

And no way will I support the  Aryan folks who want to incite a race war.  For that matter, I know a long list of non-Aryan bloggers outraged by this that the media is not addressing.

But they have a point.  Had the races been reversed, racism would be chanted from shore to shore.  Sharpton and Jackson would be on Larry king denouncing white privilege and racism.

Didn’t the Duke Lacrosse case show case that enough?

And that is really the problem here, that the black activists have been crying that the sky is falling in regards to racism so much that it has almost cheapened the concept and turned it into a tool.

The media’s lack of coverage is also noteworthy when compared to the over the top saturation coverage about any white on black issues.

If the media reported fairly and consistently, we would not be in a situation where both sides are accusing each other of crying wolf.

All crimes are motivated by hate. Hate crimes legislation is nothing more than an attempt to make thought a crime.

    To quote…

    “Racism is biting words,
    Of hate,
    To those of,
    Another race.”

Maybe these people need to remember that.

Remember that caucasian is a race too, and that racism is a two way street. Not just one.

If we’re ever going to proceed to a world where no one is racist against one another, we’re going to have to step on toes. We can’t tippy-toe around sensitive issues, such as racism against whites. It needs to be addressed just as equally. Look what tippy-toeing has done. Crimes against minorities are exploded everywhere, while no one really cares about a truly horrific event. I mean, it is a good thing the media isn’t going nuts over this, like maggots on a dead carcass, but the whole thing being shunned or being treated as a ‘white supremacist’ issue must be killing the family of these people in a whole another way.

The world needs to grow up and learn how to use the big toilet.
