More on Edwards and Coulter
The Ann and Liz show continues and as usual people spend most of the time accusing Ann of saying things she did not say. Take this link for example, where they gleefully chortle that:
Except she didn't call Edwards anything.
Yes, she is upset, and when the left continually misrepresents you it has to be frustrating. But she did not call any specific person a harridan, she made a unspecific reference to being attacked by Harridans. No where did she point a finger, and Liz is not the only female to challenge her, so this is more grandstanding.

Furious Ann Coulter Strikes Back
An obviously angry Ann Coulter this morning ripped into critics who deliberately distorted her comments about former senator and presidential hopeful John Edwards.
After a relentless 24-hour firestorm during which much of the mainstream media used selective quotes to mangle the meaning of several of Ann’s comments about Edwards, Coulter set the record straight while talking with Joe Scarborough host of MSNBC’s "Morning Joe” program.
Coulter told Scarborough:
"I’ve never seen people avoid ideas so much in such an obvious way and try to alert Americans not to read anything, not to listen to something someone said — not because of what someone is saying, but to try to portray her as a Nazi. This happens every time I put a book out and I’m getting a little bored with it . . .”
She further explained that she never wished John Edwards would die. She simply said on "Good Morning America" on June 25 that Bill Maher had wished the death of Vice President Cheney by terrorist attack and got away with it, so perhaps if she wanted to avoid criticism in the future while mentioning Edwards, she should say the same thing.
"Oh yeah, I wouldn’t insult gays by comparing them to John Edwards,” Coulter said on "Good Morning America." "That would be mean. But about the same time — you know — Bill Maher was not joking and saying he wished Dick Cheney had been killed in a terrorist attack. So I’ve learned my lesson. If I’m going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I’ll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot.”
Scarborough asked Coulter on his program, "Why would you say such an awful, awful thing about John Edwards?”
Coulter replied,
"That is how it is being reported by the Associated Press, apparently all over NBC, except on your show . . . because liberals lie. I’ve written lots of books about it and this happens to be a good example of it.”
Explaining that the terrorist attack comment was in reference to a comment by Bill Maher about wishing Dick Cheney had been killed by terrorists Coulter said, "I described the entire Bill Maher scenario in one sentence. The 'Good Morning America' audience, which is pretty large and pretty broad, [got] the joke, and no one figured out a way to truncate that sentence until 36 hours later.
"It’s not like the liberal blogs weren’t, as they always do, watching my appearance and instantly posting, from the moment I walked off 'Good Morning America,' all of their indignation, which apparently centered on my comparing George Bush to FDR because he is great on foreign policy, lousy on domestic policy.
"Nobody even thought of how to lie about what I said for 36 hours, so don’t tell me I was giving them ammunition.”
After noting that "If you are going to hate Ann Coulter, hate her for the right reasons,” Scarborough ran the "Good Morning America" clip that started the firestorm. "Some of these wire reports and some of these news shows are deliberately taking this quote out of context,” he said.
While I treat Newsmax as heavily biased to the right, from the clips I have heard they are reporting it accurately. Read the rest at your leisure.

The Left via Aravosis at AmericaBlog and TPM actually think Edwards is winning this debate by having his wife front for him in his latest fund raising effort. Actually he is right, because when you do she has some good things to say. But I digress.
Not kidding. According to NBC's David Gregory we're all missing the very important points that Ann Coulter makes because we get caught up in her hate speech. He just said to Elizabeth Edwards "if you strip away some of the inflammatory rhetoric against your husband and other Democrats, the point she's trying to make about your husband, Senator Edwards, running for the White House is in effect that he's disingenuous..."

One final note. Nearly everytime Ann says something like this, she is paralleling some manner of outrageousness on the left, whether it was the Grey's Anatomy rehab thing, or Bill Maher.
And everytime she does, she does it to showcase the hypocrisy on the left.
And every time the left vilifies her and ignores the poison in its own house, it proves her right. All she is doing is playing the game by their rules, and they hate it.
Love her or hate her, all she is doing is using the left's tactics to expose their hypocrisy. I may not agree with all she says, and frankly on many recent columns she has disappointed me, but I have to acknowledge that she is effective at what she does.
Elizabeth Edwards is just shilling for her snake oil salesman husband. She wins no points in my book considering she posts her own blog on Daily Kos, the biggest hotbed of hateful liberalism on the internet, yet never takes her host or peers to task for the very tactics she lamblasts the right about.
She also hasn't gotten around to condemning her own husband for trying to hire one of the left's most rabid hateful bloggers as his blogmistress.
Ms Edwards is losing huge in the credibility and hypocrisy battle.,
