Stupid, Intolerant Christians disrupt Hindu Prayer in the Senate

Published by Karl at 1:15 am under Idiots, intolerence

Idiots!  I can’t say it any more clearly then that.

Christian activists disrupt Hindu prayer in US Senate

Invited by the Senate to offer Hindu prayers in place of the usual Christian invocation, Rajan Zed, a Hindu priest from Reno, Nevada, had just stepped up to the podium for the landmark occasion when three protesters, said to belong to the Christian Right anti-abortion group Operation Save America, interrupted him by loudly asking for God’s forgiveness for allowing the ”false prayer” of a Hindu in the Senate chamber.

“Lord Jesus, forgive us father for allowing a prayer of the wicked, which is an abomination in your sight,” the first protester shouted. “This is an abomination. We shall have no other gods before You.”

Democratic Senator Bob Casey, who was serving as the presiding officer for the morning, immediately asked the sergeant-at-arms to restore order. But they continued to protest as they were headed out the door by the marshals, shouting, “No Lord but Jesus Christ!” and “There’s only one true God!”

Fools.  How disrespectful.  I would wager the “one true God” thinks you’re a bonehead.

These guys are whack jobs who clearly do not understand that the reality of religious freedom in America is just that:  Freedom.  While no one can argue that our country was founded with Judaeo Christian values as the basis for a lot of our laws, it is NOT a Christian government, and when the government rotates different faiths in these prayers they do so to reflect the actual demographics of our country.

If our religious freedom, which we celebrate, means anything at all, it has to be absolute.

When the Liberals castigate conservatives and Christians as being intolerant, this is a clear example of the types that prove their point.

But that said, let’s try and remember these are individuals, and should not be used to demonize the entire faith, even as the anti war nutroots are not reflective of all Liberals.

So let them pay the consequences for their disruption and let’s move on and try to get along a little better.

And maybe they should have to write “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you” a few thousand times on a blackboard.

The whackos strike again. Sheesh! Of course, if we had complete separation of church and state, that would never have happened. No prayer of any kind, no protest.

I want to thank to those protestors. They gave greater visibility to Hinduism. Hindu prayer in the senate is all over the news and all over the blogs.

Most people in the west are still ignorant of Hinduism. Media never ever talk about Hinduism. So incidents like this will open up serious discussions about Hinduism all over the media and academic circles………

To the Protestors, I want to offer my gratitude for making a very big issue about this prayer……Knowingly or unknowingly they are are propagating Hinduism….I hope they will keep this up. .
