Breaking news: Karl Rove to resign 8-31

Published by Karl at 2:38 am under OTA, Politics

This is one of those stories in which I am of mixed feeling.

I don’t think he is the evil incarnate that the liberals claim, so there is no reason for him to resign.

Karl Rove, a political adviser to President George W. Bush and a lightning rod for anger among Democrats, will leave the White House on Aug. 31, Rove told the Wall Street Journal.

“I just think it’s time,” Rove said in an interview with the newspaper published on Monday.

“There’s always something that can keep you here, and as much as I’d like to be here, I’ve got to do this for the sake of my family.”

At the same time, he is obviously a distraction to the country and maybe if he leaves the libs will be forced to ignore him and start focusing on real issues.

The libs are still stinging from the disappointment of not being able to indict him for something.  This will not be a salve to their wounds, they didn’t just want him gone, they wanted him vilified, jailed and shamed.

As it is he is leaving on his own.  That’s gonna drive them mad, and I expect Kos to be filled with a joint chorus of cheers he is gone and boos that he is not heading to jail.
