Global Warming news roundup

Published by Karl under Global Warming, Idiots, OTA

Here are some recent stories about Global Warming Climate Change.

Sister Toldjah starts it off:

I swear, the more I read things like this, the more I get disgusted with Al Gore and his ilk, as well as their pals in the press, on the global warming fraud they are so obviously perpetuating:

WASHINGTON, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — A new analysis of peer-reviewed literature reveals that more than 500 scientists have published evidence refuting at least one element of current man-made global warming scares. More than 300 of the scientists found evidence that 1) a natural moderate 1,500-year climate cycle has produced more than a dozen global warmings similar to ours since the last Ice Age and/or that 2) our Modern Warming is linked strongly to variations in the sun’s irradiance. “This data and the list of scientists make a mockery of recent claims that a scientific consensus blames humans as the primary cause of global temperature increases since 1850,” said Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Dennis Avery.

Other researchers found evidence that 3) sea levels are failing to rise importantly; 4) that our storms and droughts are becoming fewer and milder with this warming as they did during previous global warmings; 5) that human deaths will be reduced with warming because cold kills twice as many people as heat; and 6) that corals, trees, birds, mammals, and butterflies are adapting well to the routine reality of changing climate.

Despite being published in such journals such as Science, Nature and Geophysical Review Letters, these scientists have gotten little media attention. “Not all of these researchers would describe themselves as global warming skeptics,” said Avery, “but the evidence in their studies is there for all to see.”

This comes on top of a recent survey which indicated there was nowhere near a consensus on “man-made” global warming. Yet the myth persists, thanks, in large part, to “prophets” (profits?) like Al Gore, and the like-minded agenda-driven mainstream media. Remember, Gore actually stated back in March that “balanced reporting” on global warming will have severe consequences on the planet - as if to suggest that it was detrimental to our survival to hear both sides of the argument.

OK, can we finally agree that the New York Times has a Liberal Bias?

Published by Karl under Liberals, MSM, OTA

I am sure most liberals would continue to say no.  But the fact is you can blithely dismiss this.  This is an industry that is profit driven, so the decision to give MoveOn.Org a sweetheart rate for the Petraeus Betray Us ad at the cost of $100 grand plus in lost revenue is significant.  Via Hot Air:

TIMES GIVES LEFTIES A HEFTY DISCOUNT FOR ‘BETRAY US’ AD

The New York Times dramatically slashed its normal rates for a full-page advertisement for MoveOn.org’s ad questioning the integrity of Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq.

Headlined “Cooking the Books for the White House,” the ad which ran in Monday’s Times says Petraeus is “a military man constantly at war with the facts” and concluded - even before he testified before Congress - that “General Petraeus is likely to become General Betray Us.”

According to Abbe Serphos, director of public relations for the Times, “the open rate for an ad of that size and type is $181,692.”

A spokesman for MoveOn.org confirmed to The Post that the liberal activist group had paid only $65,000 for the ad - a reduction of more than $116,000 from the stated rate.

I can’t pretend to act surprised.  And the bias is clear when you find out the pro war media watch was charged much more for their recent full page ad.

The defenders can claim that this is not unlawful, and they are right (as far as I know).

But the Newspaper is suppose to report the news, and outside its editorial pages it is supposed to do so impartially. So when you offer favored rates to one political cause, there is no way you can claim that is there?

So as I said, this just exposes and confirms what most of us knew already.  The NY Times has a liberal bias.

By the way, my Blog’s ad space has a single rate structure, no matter the political leanings of the advertiser.
