I don’t think I have blogged this previously, but I have read about this guy for a while.
As the anti war loons have ramped up their accusations of American brutality, one name emerged as the poster child of the accusations, Jesse Adam MacBeth.
Jesse told gruesome tales of deliberate slaughter and cruelty in a video, claiming he was pushed into these acts by his fellow soldiers.
The problem was that as people began to investigate his story, as such a grim tale should have been investigated, it appeared that Jesse was not even an Iraq vet, nor was he in special forces. In fact he washed out of basic training and doesn’t even actually qualify to be a vet at all.
Well the story has come to a satisfying close.
He admitted today in federal court that his story was false:
A Washington man, whose claims to have slaughtered civilians as a U.S. Army Ranger in Iraq were seen by millions on YouTube, admitted in federal court in Seattle today that he was a fake and a liar.
Jesse Adam Macbeth, 23, pleaded guilty to charges he faked his war record.
“He was in the Army for 40 days before he was kicked out of boot camp for being unfit,” said U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Sullivan. “He was never in Iraq.”
Macbeth’s story of killing men and women as they left a Baghdad mosque included claims that he was a U.S. Army Ranger and had received the Purple Heart for injuries suffered in combat in Iraq.
And the story had far reaching effects:
His interview was translated into Arabic and distributed in the Middle East, said the U.S. attorney.
“Macbeth’s lies fueled hostility to our servicemen in Iraq and here at home,” Sullivan said.
[…]
And that’s the part that really pisses me off.

Behold: See how the Democrats get money for their campaigns. Via Politico.
Hsu charged with running pyramid scheme
He’s being charged both with running a pyramid scheme and with campaign finance violations, says the Journal.
Federal prosecutors said in a criminal complaint that Democratic fund-raiser Norman Hsu pressured investors to make campaign contributions through him in order to raise his public profile — then used his prominence to find more investors for illegal Ponzi schemes.
The three-count complaint was unsealed yesterday by the U.S. attorney in Manhattan. The complaint also says Mr. Hsu gave people money to make some donations, which is illegal.
Intriguingly, this is the federal prosecutor in New York, and seems like a Justice Department move to bigfoot the California authorities, opening a prosecutorial turf war subplot. (Seems like a tough time for Justice to bring a case that has anything at all to do with politics, actually.)
No comment from the Southern District, and no indictment yet.
And Politico continues with some questions about what Hillary is doing with those ill gotten gains.
Sister Toljah wakes up a few more questions about Hillary’s campaigns and the illegal donations.
In the meantime, the Hillary campaign is facing more campaign fundraising questions:
BRISTOW, Va. — When Hillary Rodham Clinton held an intimate fund-raising event at her Washington home in late March, Pamela Layton donated $4,600, the maximum allowed by law, to Mrs. Clinton’s presidential campaign.
But the 37-year-old Ms. Layton says she and her husband were reimbursed by her husband’s boss for the donations. “It wasn’t personal money. It was all corporate money,” Mrs. Layton said outside her home here. “I don’t even like Hillary. I’m a Republican.”
The boss is William Danielczyk, founder of a Washington-area private-equity firm and a major fund-raising “bundler” for Mrs. Clinton. Mrs. Layton’s gift was one of more than a dozen donations that night from people with Republican ties or no history of political giving. Mr. Danielczyk and his family, employees and friends donated a total of $120,000 to Mrs. Clinton in the days around the fund-raiser.

No, really. Only in Seattle would they call their new Trolley line the South Lake Union Trolley, or SLUT.
So yes, everyone come to Seattle and ride the SLUT.
Seattle’s ‘S.L.U.T.’ just a trolley ride
Officially, it’s the South Lake Union Streetcar. But in the neighborhood where the new line runs, it’s called the South Lake Union Trolley — or, the SLUT.
At Kapow! Coffee, a shop in the old Cascade neighborhood, 100 T-shirts bearing the words “Ride the SLUT” sold out in days, and another 100 are on order.
“We’re welcoming the SLUT into the neighborhood,” said Jerry Johnson, 29, a part-time barista.
Some claim — incorrectly, according to representatives of Vulcan Inc., the company that is developing the area — that South Lake Union Trolley was the original name and that it was changed when officials belatedly realized the acronym.
