No Surprise: Gore wins Nobel Peace Prize For lying about Global Warming - AM UPDATES

Published by Karl at 3:36 am under Global Warming, OTA, gore

As predicted by me since earlier this year, Al won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in scaring the hell out of people about Global Warming while lining his pockets selling useless carbon credits.

That’s the reality of what happened, like it or not.  Al who has his fingers in Apple, Google and the investment firm that makes huge profits on Carbon Credits, used a lie and inaccuracy filled mockumentary as a launch pad to instill groundless fear in people over something we cannot control.

I’m disgusted, but no more then I was in 2000 when he went on his robotic mission to count all democrat votes in Florida.  Apparently the Nobel Peace Prize is not what it used to be.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1007/6316.html

Vice President Al Gore was named joint winner of Nobel Peace Prize Friday for his dogged – now celebrated – work to bring attention to the environment.

Gore shared the $1.5 million prize with the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

The victory is likely to increase calls from a fragmented but vocal group of backers for him to make a late entry into the 2008 presidential race.

Just this week, an unofficial draft movement bought a full-page ad in The New York Times — a move that succeeded in  amping up the buzz among pundits and operatives.

More here:

Al Gore wins the Nobel

Al Gore is now a Nobel laureate. But will he be a presidential candidate, too?

Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize today for his efforts in highlighting the global warming issue and put himself back into the presidential picture if he is so inclined.

The announcement was made in Oslo. He shared the award with the International Panel on Climate Change. They were cited for their efforts in warning the world of the dangers of climate change.

The former vice president has dedicated much of his time since his narrow 2000 loss to President Bush to warn the nation—indeed the world—that the planet is headed toward a potentially catastrophic warming.

..

Though Gore’s name has been frequently mentioned in presidential politics this year, potentially as a “draft” nominee, he has declined to enter the contest.

But the Nobel is a huge honor recognized worldwide and gives him even more stature. It gives him a moment to reconsider the race for the Democratic nomination, now led by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Gore has not completely ruled out running, saying in the past he had “no plans” to be a candidate and shying away from the fund-raising extravaganza that now is central to American politics. At one point, he even said that he is “not very good” at politics. Critics often lampooned him as wooden as a campaigner.

But he lost one of the closest races in U.S. history in 2000 as the U.S. Supreme Court stepped in at the last minute to end a contested recount in Florida. Many of his backers say he actually won the race.

So why Al?

Though Sen. Clinton has a comfortable lead over the closest contender, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), some Democrats have expressed concern about her high negative ratings among voters and fear that it could cost the party dearly in the general election. Obama, in his first race for the highest office in the land, has a big challenge in narrowing the gap.

One group has organized a “draft Gore” campaign in hopes that he would get into the race. But the former vice president has little time to get into the race. And there are questions about his passion for the contest, with the heavy demands it would bring.

The global-warming issue has helped raise his national and international profile and now, earned him a Nobel Peace Prize. Would life be any better racing from city to city begging for votes and trying to attain the one goal that has eluded him?

If he runs, and I think he is sorely tempted, he would be the most electable candidate the Dems have.

And now, the exit question:  How long will he resist the calls to run for president?

Update:  Sister Toldjah notes the growing reactions at Memeorandum, and links to the WaPo and Time who are asking the same questions.

And Jay at STA has some intriguing links on his page.

Gore Wins Nobel Peace Prize

Joining the ranks of Arafat, Carter, and Mohammed ElBaradei…. All hail the newest Nobel Peace Prize winner, Al Gore! And what better to share the prize with than the U.N.???

Macker wonders how many carbon credits this will cost. Powerline gives perspective on the prizes decline.

Captain Ed:

Who else could have won the Nobel prize, if the committee wanted to promote peace and freedom rather than political allies? Well, perhaps they may have considered the hundreds, if ot thousands of monks in Burma who just sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of non-violent regime change.

I’m with the Czech President on this:

“The relationship between his activities and world peace is unclear and indistinct,” the statement said. “It rather seems that Gore’s doubting of basic cornerstones of the current civilization does not contribute to peace.”

Nobel Peace Prize, or NEW Global Warming Antiperspirant

AP – Al Gore has for a long time been full of hot air. He has a vivid imagination about the world around him. His inherent mistrust of the seasons stems from an episode of the Twilight Zone, in which the Earth gets too close to the Sun. Summers are hot & sticky, and Al is probably the single individual who has done most to create greater worldwide understanding of the measures needed to create a more effective global deodorant.

If college roommate Tommy Lee Jones, could save the City of Los Angeles from errant magma (Volcano), and the world entire from a giant cockroach (Men In Black), then certainly Al Gore deserves a prize for his initiative to combat global wetness. The same active ingredient and trusted formula that kept our leaders dry during the Cold War – now in unscented. As the planet heats up, you don’t have to! Clinton tested: guaranteed to leave no trace.

Now that Global Warming has been legitimized, a “private group” out of Monterey, California, wants to seed the North Atlantic with iron oxide pellets to help plankton absorb more carbon dioxide (greenhouse gasses). Strategy: “cleanup the planet and make a buck on the side.” Another inconvenient truth: how these Bolshevik’s misguided scam to pirate the “Peace Dividend,” sparked the worst terrorist attacks, to date, on United States soil: http://theseedsof9-11.com

Ps. I like a good spoof, but the facts of the matter are incontrovertible. So, to whom besides a “non-profit organization that is devoted to changing public opinion,” did Al Gore donate the $1.8 million dollar Nobel Prize purse? Who is the Alliance for Climate Protection? Perhaps not coincidentally, Al Gore is the founder and chairman of the alliance.
