Note From Bryan Suits: Regarding the firing rumours….

Published by Karl under bryan suits

This was in the comments of this post, so I am reposting it for your enlightenment.

Thanks all. However, let me clear something up. Schram had nothing to do with my ouster. Kenny may have loathesome political opinions, but he’s a stand up guy. If I had been paired with him from the outset, The Tators would be killing Limbaugh and Dave Ross 9-noon (maybe not Limbaugh).

Regardless, Schram is a pro and (off air) a really good guy. Where I’m going (back) to, it’s all about good radio. Not boring authors or inside baseball “live Iowa coverage” at 8pm. Or forced banter. It’s good radio. Period. If you’ve ever heard Jim Rome’s sportstalk, that’s my new show. Only, I get to use the WHOLE newspaper. Any-hoo, I’ll keep Karl (LSU) updated as events warrant.

So let the rumours die, Ken did not get Bryan canned.

Iowa Speaks

Published by Karl under election 2008

A few comments, then a link to some good round ups.

All along people have been warning not to take the polls too seriously.  And Lo, Hillary who has been on top for a while finishes third to Obama (Edwards second), and Huckabee finishes first with Rudy no where in sight.

While the Paulnuts raised tons of cash, common sense prevailed, and he trailed the pack.

Obama finishing first will surely be a shock to Hillary, and on the other side, Thompson who has been gaining momentum is trailing in third just ahead of McCain.

My hope at this stage, is that New Hampshire throws a wrench in the momentum on all accounts, and makes this a contest never seen before.

I would dearly love to see a nail biter, right down to the wire.

Sites with good roundups:

Everyone hang on, this is just getting started.  Hillary’s bag of dirty tricks will surely come into play, and Edwards hair isnt even warmed up yet.

Meanwhile, my money is still on Fred.

Global Warming in 2008: same stuff, different year

Published by Karl under Global Warming

So much Co2, so little time.   Last year was a whilrlwind of global warming stories.   I don’t think I blogged more stories on any other topic.

Well, it is a new year and all new madness awaiting us.

So I couldn’t let 2008 come without a quick summary of how 2007 ended in the global warming wars, and how 2008 is shaping up.

We start with a story from congress you likely won’t hear on the TV:

Senate Report: Over 400 Scientists Dispute Manmade Global Warming

So, the debate is over, right? The science is settled?

Well, according to a report just published at the United States Senate Committee on Environment & Public works website, over 400 prominent scientists from all over the world have “voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called ‘consensus’ on man-made global warming.”

As it appears a metaphysical certitude green media will totally boycott these revelations, NewsBusters is presenting some of the findings:

Over 400 prominent scientists from more than two dozen countries recently voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called “consensus” on man-made global warming. These scientists, many of whom are current and former participants in the UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), criticized the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore.

The new report issued by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee’s office of the GOP Ranking Member details the views of the scientists, the overwhelming majority of whom spoke out in 2007.

Even some in the establishment media now appear to be taking notice of the growing number of skeptical scientists. In October, the Washington Post Staff Writer Juliet Eilperin conceded the obvious, writing that climate skeptics “appear to be expanding rather than shrinking.”

 This is interesting though….

Many scientists from around the world have dubbed 2007 as the year man-made global warming fears “bite the dust.” (LINK) In addition, many scientists who are also progressive environmentalists believe climate fear promotion has “co-opted” the green movement. (LINK)
