Move America Forward, the largest pro-troop grassroots organization in the country, is going on ‘offense’ in the situation involving our Military Recruiters in Berkeley, Ca. and across the United States.

It is long past time for the US government to involve itself in finding, arresting, and prosecuting those people responsible for attacking our service men and women involved in recruiting efforts to protect our country.

This Monday, we are going to the office of US Attorney Joseph Russoniello (First District of Northern California) to demand immediate action.

It is our fervent hope that other government entities will do take action in jurisdictions where assaults, battering, slapping, and other civil rights infringements have taken place.

Pro-Troop Group Demands of US Attorney:

“Investigate Anti-American Activities in Berkeley”

City Accused of Encouraging Interference with Federal Officers

SAN FRANCISCO—A law firm representing a pro-troop organization has sent a letter to the U.S. Attorney in San Francisco asking the federal government to investigate whether the Berkeley City Council’s official anti-Marine position and encouragement of anti-war groups to “impede” the work of Marine recruiters constitutes a breach of law.  If the City Council violated the law, the letter asks the U.S. Attorney to prosecute the perpetrators.

The letter was drafted by the attorney for pro-troop organization Move America Forward (website: www.MoveAmericaForward.org), which is the nation’s largest pro-troop grassroots nonprofit.  The correspondence also voices concerns that the Berkeley Police were unresponsive and negligent to public safety during a protest the group organized in Berkeley on Feb. 12, 2007. The original copy has already been mailed and an additional copy will be hand-delivered Monday morning with a press conference immediately following.

 Michelle Obama: America the Ignorant 

Jim Hoft links to this speech from January of this year by Michelle Obama to students at the University of South Carolina, presumably just before their primary. It shows how Mrs. Obama can utter some truth but put it in such a tone-deaf manner that she obscures the truth with hostility and sneering condescension. In this case, she starts by challenging students to actually embrace diversity by having the courage to reach beyond their social comfort zones, and winds up calling America ignorant:

We don’t like being pushed outside of our comfort zones. You know it right here on this campus. You know people sitting at different tables- you all living in different dorms. I was there. You’re not talking to each other, taking advantage that you’re in this diverse community. Because sometimes it’s easier to hold on to your own stereotypes and misconceptions. It makes you feel justified in your own ignorance. That’s America. So the challenge for us is are we ready for change?

Anyone who spent time at a college or even a high school with a diverse population knows that the first part of her statement is absolutely true. I discovered this for myself in college, ironically when I took an African-American Studies class at Fullerton State. We had a debate over diversity in public schools, and I said that my high school was a good example of how diversity could work — and I got challenged by a student who had gone to my school whom I had barely known. Despite the diversity, the populations didn’t interact much socially at either level of school.

Good points, but then again, her church prefers that same chosen segregation, so how meaningful are her comments?.

However, the second part of the statement doesn’t follow from the first. America is not about being “justified in our own ignorance”, no matter how Mrs. Obama feels about campus life. America has been about fixing its flaws, sometimes haltingly and imperfectly, but always working towards that end. If she feels otherwise, then how can we explain the efforts made by many people of all backgrounds to end racism and protect civil rights? If anything, America is about hope, not ignorance. Her husband didn’t invent hope and change.

I kid you not.   I mean you cannot make this stuff up.

See what happens when a juror independently tested the famed “Fruit of the Loom” defense:

Underwear test by a juror puts murder verdict in doubt

The “Fruit of the Loom” defense didn’t work for an accused murderer in January, but attorneys are taking another shot at it after learning a Snohomish County juror experimented with his own underwear during the trial.

In a rare move, a judge on Tuesday said she will order all 12 members of the panel back to court April 9 to get to the bottom of things by asking a few questions.

She’ll then decide if any juror misconduct warrants a new trial for Daniel Jay Perez, 21.

Perez was convicted of second-degree murder for using the drawstring from his sweatpants to strangle his cellmate at the Monroe Reformatory in the Monroe Prison Complex.

Perez confessed after the body of Cory Garzina, 24, was found in their cell, saying the marks on his hands came from the drawstring.

At his January trial, Perez told a different story, saying the marks on his hands actually came from a unique suicide attempt.

Perez testified that he was afraid of two other inmates who were the killers. So he tore the elastic waistband from his underwear and used it to try to strangle himself, causing the marks on his hands.

In a conversation following the verdict, the jury foreman told prosecutors that at one point during the trial, another juror talked about going home and trying to rip the waistband off from his own underwear.

From his experiment, the juror concluded that it would have been difficult for Perez to have entirely separated his underwear waistband from the rest of his drawers.

When Perez’s attorneys heard about the experiment, they asked for a new trial, alleging juror misconduct.

Objection Your honor!  The juror is playing with his skivvies!

This one is a nobrainer.

Code Pink: In Berkeley Until the Marines Leave

As pro-war, flag-waving counter-protesters set up camp in Berkeley, Calif., on Monday, an anti-war activist told Cybercast News Service that her organization intended to demonstrate against the city’s Marine recruitment center until it was abandoned.

“We’re staying here until the Marines decide to respect the people of Berkeley and what we want in our city,” Zanne Joi,  a spokesperson for the anti-war group Code Pink, said in an interview. “We’re a city of peace. We’ve always voted against this war, as a council and as a people.”

 Though they are not unopposed….

Meanwhile, motor-bikers from the pro-military group Eagles Up descended on Berkeley on Saturday to counter-protest with American flags in hand.

Eagles Up also had the support of the pro-troops organization Move America Forward, which is chaired by former California radio personality Melanie Morgan.

“We encourage all American patriots to stand with Eagles Up and the Marines,” she said. “I hope to see Move America Forward’s supporters at the muster to show our love and support for our troops.”

The group intends to facilitate a boycott of Berkeley businesses until the city withdraws its support for the protesters.

So here we have the battle lines:  A bunch of bitter old women against the US Marine Corps and a bunch of bike riding veterans and patriots, not mention a national boycott supported by bloggers around the country.

Who is your money riding on?

Sarcasm aside, in my opinion, the ladies of code pink should get comfortable, because the Marines are not going to cut and run.

Beth at Blue Star Chronicles was one of the first bloggers I linked up with years ago when I was getting started.

What has always impressed me about her was her unwavering support of the troops.  Her blog is a must read on any given day.

But this one is an absolute classic.

Portland Protesters Call for the Murder of Your Son and Mine

I posted a short little snippet of this a while ago and called it good … for a minute. It just flew all over me, but I was going to let it go at that one little bit and a referral to the original article. But you know me, I can’t let it go. It just blows me away that these people who call for the murder of our Troops do so openly and without one second of consequence to themselves.

They are cowards. They cover their faces and march in protests in places like Portland where they don’t have to worry about snipers or roadside bombs. They don’t have to worry about dictators making them disappear for their sedition and treason. They don’t have to look into the eyes of their enemies. They don’t have to look into the eyes of those that they seek to bring down. They don’t have to look into the eyes of someone who is trying to kill them.

They can go home and go to bed and not realize the damage they do. They are just out having a good time with their classmates. Just another day out for a good time trying to bring down the government of the United States.

Just another day having a good time, hiding their faces, and calling for the death of MY SON.

The men and women that they are asking Soldiers to FRAG are our sons and daughters. While they are out chanting and covering their disgusting cowardly faces, our sons and daughters are fighting people with REAL guns and a REAL will to kill them. This isn’t a GAME. This isn’t a GAME for the men and women who are fighting an enemy determined to kill them in a land as foreign to our way of life as you can get.

What irritates me about this story is the fact that nearly any liberal anti war cause is showcased at schools, and students can even get released from school to go protest with their nutball teachers in some places.

But when the pro troop rally comes to town, they are shunned as too political.

Forest Lake event canceled; too political

A national tour featuring decorated veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan won’t be stopping at Forest Lake Area High School today as planned, after school leaders abruptly canceled the visit.

Steve Massey, the school principal, said the decision to cancel was prompted by concerns that the event was becoming political rather than educational and therefore was not suitable for a public school.

So why was it too political?  Not because the rally itself has too much political content.  No, it was too political because:

He said the school had received several phone calls from parents and others, some of whom indicated that they may stage a protest if the event took place.

So because the anti Peace Thugs were coming out, they canceled an opportunity for kids to find out more about actual heroes.

“The event was structured to be an academic classroom discussion around military service. We thought we’d provide an opportunity for kids to learn about service in the context of our history classes,” Massey said. “As the day progressed, it became clear that this was becoming a political event … which would be inappropriate in a public setting.

“We decided to cancel,” Massey said. Organizers of the National Heroes Tour then scrambled to relocate the event to the American Legion building in Forest Lake. The visit, which U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Stillwater, had been scheduled to attend, is sponsored by Vets for Freedom, a national organization run by Pete Hegseth, a 1999 graduate of Forest Lake Area High School who served with the 101st Airborne in Iraq in 2005-06.

The protest appears to have been threatened by the Democratic Underground, as Hot Air picks up the story:

At first glance, the sign, while vulgar to some people, seems clever.  The problem is that it is unintentionally hypocritical.

I have no doubt that the majority of anti war peace advocates are just that: Advocates of peace who protest peacefully and non violently.

But.

There are also others who see their mission to end the war one that must be done at all costs.  And all who stand in their way must be crushed.

There is no other way to describe the people who terrorize Churches in Chicago, who splatter blood, human feces, and fire paint bombs loaded with glass at pro-troop supporters across the country. These incidents are well-documented in Move America Forward’s ‘Sedition Report’ on-line at www.moveamericaforward.com.

The violence hit closer to home in Berkeley, Ca. where our pro-troopers were shoved, pushed and battered with peace signs by anarchist groups like Funk The War, The World Can’t Wait, Global Exchange, and International A.N.S.W.E.R. two months ago. (More on that story later.)

Over the weekend, I broke the story in West Chester, Pa. about a young female blogger who was assaulted while doing her job documenting both the pro-troop and anti-war dueling rallies.

‘Skye’ at MidnightBlue.com was slapped twice by a member of the anti-war movement, a peace terrorist, while video-taping an exchange between both sides.

She was terribly traumatized by the incident, and did not release the video right away.

It’s out there now.

And it’s shocking.

Grown men slapping women.

Is this how they want to bring ‘peace’ to the world, by hitting females until they agree with them?

I have blogged for several years now, and one constant theme I keep seeing over and over is the hypocrisy on the liberal side when it comes to matters like this.  If you are rude to them, they brand you every hateful name they can, but they excuse their own rudeness with justifications.
