Hillary: In for the long haul

Published by Karl at 12:58 am under election 2008, hillary, obama

Polls show she is winning in Texas, RI and Ohio, so tonight becomes a huge win for Hillary.

Oh she is still trailing Obama, but her wins gave her some new found momentum and spirit.  That, coupled with her insatiable lust for power and her manipulation of the super delegates makes this race still too close to call.

The real dog and pony show will be in the convention where her super delegates may give her the nomination despite Obama’s winning the popular vote.  Hillary loves voter intent unless it thwarts her ambition.

The real question in my mind is this: Has she and Obama expended so much bitterness and anger that they could not team up for the VP slot?  Could she play second fiddle to his president?  Or vice versa?

Edwards managed to swallow his pride and ride John Kerry’s doomed coat tails, but Hillary is so besotted with winning, can she eat enough crow to proclaim Obama her number one man?

She should.  If she was smart, she would bow out gracefully, and deal with him to secure the VP slot, and give herself the edge to the Whitehouse in 2016.

Because, if she wins the nomination there will be serious hell to pay.  Do you honestly think that Obama’s many endorsers will not play the race card if he loses the nomination?  If Hillary comes from behind and wins, or if she parlays the super delegates to victory, the race baiters will start their BS about white privilage and all that garbage.

Bad enough if he wins the nomination, after which every criticism of him will be painted as racist, and should he lose to McCain it will be seen as “the man keeping the brother down”.

I personally expect riots if he loses either the nomination or the presidency.

No matter how this ends, it will be ugly.  Count on it.

It’s amazing how the Obama supporters continue to use nasty insults towards Clinton supporters, who are dissatisfied with the DNC’s decision to blow off Hillary. This ongoing disrespect and arrogance is part of the reason why many, many Clinton supporters will either move towards McCain, or stay home in November.
