Mr Reid: Tear down that (border) wall…
7 years after 9/11 gave us a reality check of our vulnerability against attack, the greatest security threat, an essentially wide open border, has yet to be fixed.
The efforts to address it as a serious question continue to get bogged down in foolish details.
The matter is simple, we are all for immigration, we just want to see that immigrations structured in such a way that we can screen out undesirable people. Conversely, many immigrants feel the need of desire to bypass that structure, perhaps feeling they are the ones we might not desire. Others not willing to wait the time required to do it legally do so illegally.
Regardless of the details, the simple fact is that our borders offer little security.
So building a fence seemed the minimum effort to take to at least show the appearance of security.
Harry Reid disagrees. He wants us to reconsider the effort to secure the border, and his reasons for doing so are interesting. Per Michelle Malkin:
And I believe we would be wise to reconsider the effectiveness and cost of a wall along our southern border, which has adversely affected the fragile environment and vibrant cross-border culture of an entire region. Such a wall stands as a symbol of fear and intolerance. This is not what America is about and we can do better.
Fragile environment? how does a chain link fence impact the environment, other than interfering with certain migratory animals…and farm workers.
And exactly what is the vibrant cross-border culture?
Another snippet:
We must also live up to the goal of family reunification in our immigration policy and join at least 19 other nations that provide immigration equality to same-sex partners of different nationalities.
So not only are we interfering with a rich environmentally friendly vibrant cross culture, we are also homophobic.
As to the last, since the,e federal government does not recognize domestic partnerships between gays, I fail to see why they should recognize them when they are used to circumvent immigration laws.
No where did I see security, crime, gang violence, drug running, the impact of illegal immigration on our economy and all the other real factors.
All Mr Reid appears to be concerned with is feel good elements that have no positive impact on our country. And the wall that is being built is a gentle slap in the face to all of his ilk, that somewhere some people actually see the real problems in illegal immigration and want to try and contain it.
So of course, the wall must come down….

Can we build a wall around Senator Reid?
I just called the illustrious senator’s office. I asked whether his fears about the fragile border include the tons of trash that have been left by illegal aliens crossing the border. Also does he worry about the heads rolling around the border left by drug cartels that have killed 5,000 in the last year alone? LYING dog, this man needs to be stopped for so many reasons. How did such a great country end up with a leader in the Senate represented by a pansy waisted nerd of a fellow whose main purpose in life is to line his own pockets, who tries fruitlessly to embellish his own reputation and ends up drawing less and less approval ratings. I have predicted he and his cronies can easily reach 0 % approval ratings…I would bet the ranch on it!
