Franken’s projected win makes the Democrat Super Majority official, even though they already had it

Published by Karl at 11:25 pm under Democrats, Idiots

I say they already had it because with Specter, Snow and Collins supporting the Democrats on so many critical issues it was pretty much a done deal.

All Republicans can do is hope that the Democrats have a little common sense, a futile hope at best.

Stinging from 12 years of Republican majority and 8 years of BDS1 Democrats are feeling giddy with power and are embarking on a full scale redefining of America.

Time will tell whether this is a good thing or a bad, though if their inanity around spending is a foreshadowing, we are severely screwed.

How this will play in the 2010 and 2012 elections will really depend on how outrageous the Democrats go.  If they had any sense, they would extend pseudo bipartisan olive branches, essentially compromises that are really not, and try to make the Republicans look petulant.

But in the House Pelosi has suspended rules in an act that has guaranteed that Republican votes are effectively worthless, and their input unnecessary and unwelcome.

This is the Democrat definition of “bipartisan”, and I expect the Senate to adopt a similar policy.

This of course brings us to Arlen Specter.  Sen Specter in the most brash example of political survival defected to the Democrats making his closet DNC membership no longer a matter of speculation.

But his was not an ideological shift, it was purely survival, as he faced a rough election as a Republican…against a Republican challenger.

To me any politician that will sell his affiliation to ensure reelection is among the lowest forms of life.

Which brings us back to Franken.

I still think Coleman has a valid appeal to the SCOTUS over the irregularities in absentee vote counting standards, an equal protection precedent of Gore v Bush in 2000, so I hope he appeals.

But assuming he either does not or the appeal fails, Franken will be seated.

I still am trying to talk to my Minnesota friends and ask them what they were thinking.

We need honest, ethical and serious leaders in this time of need.

Instead, we get this:

Way to go Minnesota….

(yes I know the picture is a photo shop…but Al won’t mind, he understand satire….)

I am not worried.  As I said, I accepted a while ago that they can do whatever they want.  In fact I actually came to accept that with the Republican majority, who squandered there chance to direct this country with ethics and morality, and have paid the price for it now.  They acted so much like Democrats with their ethics challenges and spending that people voted Democrat.

Which explains Specter.

Time will heal this, and in time the Democrats will overreach like they did in 1992 and the tide will change again.

And nothing they do cannot be undone.

It will be a bumpy ride, but it will not last forever.
