About Me

Published by Karl

Well, how much detail do you need to know?

I am 44 years old, married 14 years, have 4 kids and 19 pets.

I work as a domains analyst, but I have done all of these exciting careers:

Helpdesk, enterprise support, trainer, pizza cook, bartender, bus boy, car washer, dish washer, truck washer, truck driver, furniture delivery, electronics assembly tech, C5 And C141 crew chief, custodian, parts driver, gas station/mini mart clerk, security gaurd, amusement park ride operator, flower delivery, shipping and receiving, wheel and tire mechanic, burger maker, DJ engineer, inventory manager, tool issue clerk, 777 assembly mechanic, book store clerk and paper boy....in no particular order.   I am sure I missed a few.

So why not a writer/blogger?

I was born and raised in the San Jose area.  After joining the Air Force in 1982, I left the Bay Area to see the world...of Northern California, only 90 miles away.  Stationed at Travis AFB I was quite precocious in my 12 years there, achieving an Associate of Science degree in only 11 years, without ever taking a college course.

I was a honor graduate of my apprentice and journey level training programs, and of my NCO Leadership School.  I was also selected as branch and squadron NCO of the month the only time I went before the board.  I was also one of a very small number of people to attend the NCO Academy at the rank of E5.  The NCOA is normally for E7 and some E6s.

I enjoyed the military, and still maintain a keen interest in matters military, which may explain the occasional pro military rants I post.

I left Travis in 1995, and settled in the Seattle Area, where I currently reside.

I worked for a copier company then Boeing, but was laid off in 1999.  I entered the computer industry, and since worked for 4 contract agencies, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Clearwire and the University of Washington Medical School.

I play guitar, and have for about 27 years.  I should be better then I am, but I never wanted to tour, I just like the music.  I have 6 guitars, 3 amps and sundry accessories.

I am also a dedicated, no obsessed computer hobbyist, as well as an avid reader.

I have to make a mention of my political affiliation.  To my knowledge I have never registered to a party, but usually tended to choose independent.  I may have registered republican once.

I align as a social moderate and a fiscal conservative, and the closest party affiliation I have is Neo Libertarian.

I try to vote the issue, not the parties, and judge the candidates by their merits not their affiliations.

in recent elections I tend to vote against someone, not with them.

I became politically aware in the post Vietnam era, when Nixon and Agnew resigned.  I was adamantly against Reagan, but voted for him because I detest Carter,

You get the picture.

I love the northwest, but miss California, I hate politicians, but love politics, and love coffee.

Anything else you want to know, ask.

Hey bud — Thank you for your service, past and present. I REALLY enjoyed the video. Why the hell isn’t it in all the theaters? (Ahmmmm, let me think…)

Keep up the good work. There are a lot of us out here that appreciate it. And more to come, I just linked your page with the Global Warming Swindle to all my email list.

    Good luck - Ron

Where in the SJ area? I lived in Campbell and went to Cambrian 54 years ago. My son has lived in SJ (he’s a pencil necked computer geek) from 2001 - 2007.

Great site. The video knocked me off my feet. It’s a positive response to the Al Gore hit piece. Thank you for keeping it up on your site.

With your permission I would like to link to it from a WWW I am going to set up next week.

With all your background, why make ignorant comments like “San Francisco tries to Ban the Blue Angels”?

You know better. It a proposal by one of eleven elected Supervisor, who is well-known for his whacky behavior on any number of issues. His proposal was never taken seriously, except by a couple of fringe political groups.

For you to take that and turn it into a call for a “boycott on San Francisco” is childish in the extreme.

By the way, I just spent four days watching and photographing the Blue Angels practice sessions and shows, along with tens of thousands of spectators. No demonstrations against the shows, anywhere, just a whole lot of Blue Angels fans, …most from San Francisco as far as I could tell.

I’m sorry you have to suffer the Seattle crap but i guess it’s better than Kalifornia. (yes, spelled with a K) I’m on a mission to tell Mayor Nickels how I really feel about him. I have a poorly written rant-blog chasingdown.blogspot.com if you are ever interested. I actually came across your blog while trying to google some dirt on Nickels. I can’t stand that man…
