The View from the cheap seats reveals the real N word: “Nitwits”

Published by Karl under Idiots, racism

I read about this a few days ago and I really wasn't sure I wanted to address it.

First of all, I am unconcerned about Elisabeth Hasselbeck being moved to tears by the bigotry and hypocrisy of her co stars.  She goes to work every day knowing that her fellow View ladies are ideologically opposed to her.  While I admire her refusal to quit, I have to hope she is strong enough to deal with what she deals with every week.  In fact, I have to say that she has sown incredible strength previously, so I know that she has it in her.

So my outrage is not that sweet Elisabeth cried.  It is that her co hosts are so pitifully racist.

The issue is of course the word Nigger.  After Jesse Jackson got caught muttering it over a hot mic, the topic has once again raged discussing who can say it, when they can say it, and who they can say it to.

The reality seems to be that if you are black, you can say it to a black person, as long as you mean it lovingly as a term of endearment.  At least that is how Goldberg and Shepperd of the view see it, in their racially nuanced position.

Hasselbeck sees it more fundamentally.  If it is wrong, and bad, then no one should feel comfortable saying it.  Period.  Walters seems to agree, though she is partially patronizing too, and she is shut down by Shepperd as well.

One would think that black co star Goldberg would applaud her, but no.  Poor white Elisabeth is deluded, apparently.

Here is the full transcript, with my comments in line.  I will follow this with two other reactions I thought worthy.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: I don’t know whether you’ve been watching television last night or this morning, but new footage was leaked that apparently shows Jesse Jackson using the "n" word. Fox News says the tape was leaked. They didn’t have anything to do with it. So I ask you, is any of this a surprise?

RIP Tony Snow - And here comes the scum at Westboro Baptist

Published by Karl under Idiots

This is terrible.  First we lost Tim Russert, and now Tony Snow.  Both brilliant political commentators, and both far too young.

Two great political minds and voices in a year where the presidential race promises to take on historic proportions.

The fact Tony passed away, I guess is not a surprise, as he has battled cancer for years.  But it is always a shock.

Tony was one of the main voices I listened to in the early days of my growing interest in politics.  His common sense and patience with rabid liberal callers was always impressive.

I plan to post a bigger tribute later, including his great work as White House Correspondent.

But first, the bad news:  Westboro Baptists has come out of their horrid little hole in the ground, and Tony is their target.

I have despised these fruitcakes for years, and this just adds to my dislike.

Westboro Baptist Church Plans Tony Snow Funeral Protest

Dear God, please let the Patriot Guard Riders know about this ahead of time. The Phelps gang is ready to strike, and  this is their intent. Please pass this along to all who can get the word out  so we can stop these fools. According to their site, this  is when it's going to happen and why:

07/177/2008 10:00 AM -- 11:00 AM Alexandria, VA Christ Episcopal Church (Lepor Colony) 118 N. Washington St. Tony Snow (Press Secretary  for 6 "B" George W. Bush) is dead, YES! He had a platform, he was given some small talent by his creator. He was an unfaithful steward, and is now residing  in hell. Each opportunity he had to faithfully REport what the servants at WBC had to tell this country/world, Tony Snow besmerched and vilified the words of God and tte people  of  God.

I seriously hate these people and I really don't like using that word lightly.

The “men at work” controversy- the latest in Political Correctness

Published by Karl under Idiots

And speaking of politically correct nonsense (via Sister Toldjah):

A story of political correctness gone crazy in Atlanta:

In the battle of the sexes, women’s magazine editor Cynthia Good said this was a skirmish she had to fight.

Across Atlanta they stood, orange signs with black letters that read “Men At Work” or “Men Working Ahead.”

Sometimes, the signs stood next to women working alongside the men.

Good demanded Atlanta officials remove the signs and last week, Atlanta Public Works Commissioner Joe Basista agreed.

Score one for gender equality, Good said Wednesday.

“They get it,” Good said about the city in a telephone interview.

Public Works officials are replacing 50 “Men Working” with signs that say “Workers Ahead.” It will cost $22 to cover over some of the old signs and $144 to buy new signs, said Public Works spokeswoman Valerie Bell-Smith said.

Good, founding editor of Atlanta-based PINK Magazine, a publication that focuses on professional women, said she’s not stopping with Atlanta.

“We’re calling on the rest of the nation to follow suit and make a statement that we will not accept these subtle forms of discrimination,” said Good, 48.

Good pressed the issue after Atlanta police came to her office last month on a complaint that she spray painted “wo” onto a “Men At Work” sign.

[…]

Atlanta union leader Gina Pagnotta said some women employees of Atlanta Public Works complained about these signs years ago.

“It is a little bit bias to say ‘Men Working,’ ” said Pagnotta, president of the Professional Association of City Employees. “Women are working, too.”

This is as stupid as the whole manhole vs. personhole cover “debate.” Don’t these self-important nitwits have anything better to do?

Answer:  No they don't.

Now, this is not a new battle by any means, but it's been a while since it reared its head.

More on the Black Hole Controversy

Published by Karl under Idiots, racism

I guess this proves that even after being caught being stupid on live TV, it never totally dies.

The fool is defending his stupid comments.

Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price is sticking to his comments that the term "black hole," which a colleague used, is racist.Price also says language such as "angel food cake" and "devil's food cake" are also racially insensitive.

Go to the link to see video of this buffoon.  He also objects to Black Sheep.

A friend of mine pointed out:

Did you notice his own racism rear its head.  The Jew vs barter comment was a dead giveaway.

Here is the video of the original incident...you make the call.

You can't make this stuff up, I swear.

So according to these angry idiots we should sanitize any use of the words black or dark that could possible have any negative meaning.

I am all for removing offensive euphemisms from our society, but please, let's not be ridiculous.

The Scientific Community is racist!

Published by Karl under Idiots, racism

At least that seems to be the consensus in Texas.

I swear, I read this today and I honestly was looking to make sure this was not parody.

It wasn't.

Dallas County officials spar over 'black hole' comment

A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon.

County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."

That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.

Sure.  Using the proper technical term for a gravitational anomaly, where gravity is so strong that nothing can escape it including light, as an analogy to an office where paperwork enters and never reappears....that's racism?

Seriously?

Mayfield shot back that it was a figure of speech and a science term. A black hole, according to Webster's, is perhaps "the invisible remains of a collapsed star, with an intense gravitational field from which neither light nor matter can escape."

Other county officials quickly interceded to break it up and get the meeting back on track.

Good for them  Obviously clear thinking people recognized that this was a snipe hunt, a foolish complaint...

Well, actually no.  It was because:

TV news cameras were rolling, after all.

Sure.  No sense in looking like idiots simple because you were acting like idiots.

Michelle Malkin takes this tomfoolery to its logical conclusion:

Next on the p.c. forbidden list: black box, Blackberry, blackjack, and blackout. Oh, and all black Crayola crayons, which shall henceforth be called “African-American.”

Harry Reid followed by Dennis Miller on Harry Reid

Published by Karl under Democrats, Idiots

Ok, this guy is at best and out of touch divisive idiot who has completely lost touch with reality, commonsense and truth.  He is clueless, dim and laughable.

Why Nevada keeps electing him is a bona fide mystery.

Here he is bloviating how Coal makes us sick, in YouTube's #1 video:

Now...in this video from last year, see Dennis Miller quite accurately dissect Harry Reid.

Poetry.  Pure poetry.

School Stupidity of the Year (Decade?) Award goes to Land ‘O Lakes Florida: Teacher fired for “Wizardry” for making a toothpick disappear

Published by Karl under Idiots, Schools

I've been offline for a week, and when I come back, what awaits me?  The most ignorant stupid thing I have seen thus far this year.

Fla. Teacher Accused Of Wizardry: Man Made Toothpick Vanish In Class

Teacher Jim Piculas does a magic trick where a toothpick disappears and then reappears.

Piculas recently did the 30-second trick in front of a classroom at Rushe Middle School in Land 'O Lakes.

Piculas said he then got a call from the supervisor of teachers, saying he'd been accused of wizardry.

"I get a call the middle of the day from head of supervisor of substitute teachers. He says, 'Jim, we have a huge issue, you can't take any more assignments you need to come in right away,'" he said.

Piculas said he did not know f any other accusations that would have led to the action.

The teacher said he is concerned that the incident may prevent him from getting future jobs.

Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.

What the hell is wrong with people?  Seriously!

On a happy note:  This does make Seattle Schools look pretty good, so at least we have that.

Parents of soldier killed in Iraq sue maker of “Bush Lied” t-shirt featuring his name

Published by Karl under Idiots

Via Hot Air:

The Smoking Gun has a copy of the complaint. Turning KIAs into political props is bad enough; getting rich off it — profits may reach $75,000 in this case — is execrable. Any tort lawyers in the audience want to skim through and weigh in on the likelihood of victory? If the parents can get it to a jury they’re golden, but can they? One of their claims, negligent infliction of emotional distress, is sketchy. Another, intentional infliction of emotional distress, is sturdier, but a judge might use the precedent of the Falwell case to find that the t-shirt maker’s First Amendment rights trump. (Falwell dealt with parody, not political speech, but it’s easy to imagine how a court might extend it.)

The real issue for the lawyers has to do with the remaining claim, the right of publicity. I’ve always understood that to be a specie of trademark jurisprudence: Your name and likeness can’t be used without your permission to hawk goods if people would be misled into thinking it was an endorsement. As far as I know, there’s no right of publicity at stake in a shirt that reads “Tom Cruise Sucks” since no one would be misled into thinking Tom Cruise had licensed it. Featuring the names of dead soldiers on an anti-war shirt isn’t quite as cut and dried as that, but I’ve personally never assumed that the families of the fallen have licensed the names and/or images of the troops used in those dopey mosaics of Bush’s face, so in no sense am I really being misled. The question, then, is whether the right at stake is a simple property right — you can’t use anyone else’s name for any reason, period — or whether there has to be some element of trying to “pass off” the name being used as an endorsement. Not sure where the law stands on that, but note what the Smoking Gun says in its introduction about the Arizona statute passed last year. I’m guessing the parents have an uphill climb here.

KVI today: Ken Schram thinks your kids are wimps

Published by Karl under Idiots, Ken Schram, Schools

Well not in as many words, but that is the essence of todays show, whether the blustering Mr Schram wants to believe it or not.

According to Schram, he got an email from the mother (Pseudonym Lisa) of a student (Pseudonym Billy) at Maplewood Heights Elementary School.  This mom was aghast at the horrific punishment her child had to endure at school.

Though the child's actual crime was undisclosed, it surely must have been something horrible to have generated such punishment.

For this unknown crime (I shudder to think that there is a cover up to conceal the facts here) the child was PUBLICLY HUMILIATED!!!

The child - and I forgot to add, the implication was that there were more than one involved - the child was forced during recess to...I don't know if I should say this out loud...I must, the truth demands to be told...the poor victim (for after all, liberals believe we are ALL victims) was made to stand - YES I said STAND -  against a wall during recess.

My hands are shaking as I write this, such is my outrage.

His time to bond and explore diversity with his peer unit, his chance to exercise and maintain his proper cardio vascular fitness was ROBBED from him, for some trivial punishment, where a stern talking to and perhaps the admonition to be more enlightened and progressive would have been much more efficient.

But I have saved the worst for last.

Dear reader...the child, the poor abused child had to wear a sign around his neck one that showed how many minutes of his recess time he was denied.

It was public shame and humiliation ladies and gentlemen.  It was cruel, and promoted...wait...

Surely the sign had some other humiliation on it?  A stark description of his crime perhaps...(reviews tape...)uh...no...

Um...

So Ken, let me see if I hear you correctly.   According to the pod cast, the sign is for the teachers to know long the student is on the wall for.  The student broke something, and received a 2 day recess suspension.

Rep Jim “Baghdad” McDermott finally is forced to pay for his crimes

Published by Karl under Democrats, Idiots

Pay up, you cheapskate crook.

Dirty Democrat files: Baghdad Jim finally forced to pay up

Democrat Rep. Jim McDermott will have to fork over the $1 million in legal fees he owes GOP Rep. John Boehner in the protracted leaked tape case. Finally. Leave it to McDermott to pervert this into some kind of triumph for the First Amendment. Chutzpah:

A federal judge says House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, can collect more than $1 million in his lawsuit against Democratic Rep. Jim McDermott of Washington state.

The decision was issued in a decade-long dispute over an illegally taped telephone call. In the 1996 call, Republican leaders discussed an ethics case against then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga. A Florida couple recorded the cell phone call on a radio scanner and McDermott leaked the tape to two newspapers.

Boehner sued and a federal court found that McDermott had no right to release the calls. The Supreme Court decided in December not to revisit the case.

Now....trust a democrat to rationalize this as a good thing:

McDermott called the court fight with Boehner “a long and costly battle,” but said the million-dollar judgment was “a small price to pay in defense of so fundamental a principle, and freedom, as the First Amendment.”

Because of the protracted legal challenge, “the First Amendment is stronger today, and shielded by new case law that will buttress its capacity to protect the publication of truthful information on matters of public importance long into the future,” McDermott said in a statement Tuesday. “Knowing this, I am proud of my role in defense of the First Amendment.”

So the lesson, according to Cheapo?

Wiretap the enemies of America? BAD BAD BAD!!  Un-American, evil and bad!  Did I mention racist?  Oh and bad!

Wiretap the members of the opposite political party?  A glorious exercise in freedom and principle.  A hole enterprise filled with righteousness and altruism
