Besides “why not?”
Well, while at work I see headlines flash by and often times these headlines stir a random thought or two. Sometimes amusement. Some days outrage.
But being ethical, I cannot log in to my blog on company time and post them, and by the time break or lunch rolls around, the idea has fled.
So with a simple click of a button, I can capture the headline and send it to the blog and not break stride in my job.
And, with the daily and weekly blogs, I can begin to make a record of them.
This also gives me a list at night or on the weekend of likely topics for more consideration.
I like it. I feel fully engaged again even if the day job is so busy I cannot be.
I hope you enjoy them.

While I figure out how to upgrade the site into the next gen Wordpress version, I may not ramp up into heavy blogging. My plan is to setup my first sub blog and see if the new database will be compatible.
Meanwhile, I will be tweet-blogging a lot this week to keep the news flowing. On the far right sidebar, you can see my last five tweets, and every evening a tweet digest will post…assuming that plug in works as advertised, of course.
If the tweet blogging works out well, I may continue it long term.
Bear with me as I continue to improve this site.

Apparently, my database is using the wrong version of MySql.
Lovely. This may take a bit longer than I hoped…

I will be down for a couple days wih a bug.
Till then, ask yourself when comparing McCain to Obama, who has style and who has substance, and who engages in politics, and who engages in policy.
More on that in a day or so.
Also, is Biden preparring to bail and insert Hillary as an October surprise?
And do we really need a bailout?
More on these two issues soon.

I fixed the Firefox 2.0 compatibility issue, it works in IE7 and Safari…what else do you people want from me? *grin*
All I need to do is verify that IE 6 looks ok, and the updates are done. Thank God. I hate trying to figure out the mistakes I kept making in CSS.
Please let the feedback roll. If there is somethign broken, by all means help me out and let me know.
Anyway, it seems to all be working, so thanks for the patience.

The essential site design is done, but I am having some compatibility issues with Mozilla Firefox and IE 6. For some reason the right sidebar is down below.
So IE 7 users, enjoy, and Mozilla or IE6 users, I should have things fixed shortly. As in interim measure, there is a selection box to pick which version of the site you want to use, the new IE 7 compatible blog, or the original Mozilla/IE 6 compatible.
Take a look around and let me know how you like it.

If you see a message announcing the site is undergoing maintenance, do not be alarmed.
I will be testing and modifying an updated site theme for the next few days, so I will have the site down for an hour or so at a time until complete.
Bear with me. 2008 is going to be a huge year and I want my site to be ready for it.

Sorry for the quietness of late.
I had a major computer crash, coupled with some food poisoning, making it a little hard to blog for a few days.
So now, the food poisoning has…well…passed.
And the old Dell 610 PIII Xeon 500 system has been replaced with an HP Intel P4 system, so all should be back to normal shortly.
I will be upgrading wordpress this weekend, so one more set of delays to come, but expect my posting to increase dramatically.
Thanks for bearing with me, and look out world, here I come again.
2008 is going to be a seriously FUN year.

Just a note. I have been having problems with trackbacks, and finally got the code straghtened out. This should prevent me from double pinging people i send trackbacks to, as well as allow me to recieve them properly. If anyone wants to send me a test trackback, I’d appreciatre it.
The new site is working well, though so it’s all good.
